42nds and SPSS screen at Adelaide Festival Centre

42nds screening outside the Adelaide Festival Centre, King William Road

Two of my videos 42nds and SPSS were screened at the Adelaide Festival Centre during April 2019 as part of their Screening Artists program. 42nds was on a giant LED screen overlooking King William Road, one of Adelaide’s main thoroughfares, while SPSS was shown on a large LED screen in the main foyer of the Festival Theatre itself.

floodtide

What will our cities look like when sea levels rise amid the permanent consequences of climate change?

At last, here is the final version of my “floodtide” video. I first showed and performed it at the Paroxysm Press Showcase event at this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival.

Nearly every scene in the video has been artificially composited and animated from multiple sources, comprising over 600 clips, originally filmed in various locations around the greater Adelaide area, the Fleurieu Peninsula, Kangaroo Island, inner city Melbourne and its Port, Far North Queensland, and more…

Game Over selected for touring video poetry program

Poetry + Video: a touring program, curated by Marie Craven, is an hour-long collection surveying diverse contemporary expressions of poetry in video. A wide range of approaches includes: screen adaptations of page poetry, prose poetry, animations, poetry from found text and media, poetic cinema, text-on-screen, and spoken word. The program is designed to be highly portable, and easily obtainable on request to screening spaces in any location. It is available for small to medium-sized venues in Australia and other places during 2019/2020.

I’m very pleased to have my video Game Over: Grand Final Edition as part of this program.

The premiere screening will be on 4 May, 2019 at Garden Gallery, Murwillumbah, Australia. See the program itinerary for more details.
